Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Kristen actually grew up in the dental world, working for her father’s dental office first as a front desk assistant, then as a clinical assistant over several summers. She’d always known she wanted to be in patient care, ever since being treated for a rare elbow fracture from a gymnastics accident at the age of 11. The oral healthcare field in particular showed her so many examples of passionate care and lifelong relationships. She loves that she not only helps patients in dire need, but continually motivates and coaches them throughout the years!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After graduating Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Northeastern University, she completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine at the prestigious Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Kristen was awarded as a senior the special honor of the Quintessence Excellence Award from clinical faculty. She completed an AEGD residency program, where she learned advanced dental procedures such as wisdom tooth extractions, sinus lifts, bone grafting, dental implant placement in addition to general dentistry practices. Since dental school, she has completed over 500 continuing education courses and is planning to receive her Fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry in July 2022! FUN FACT: Dr. Kristen also is a published author in Decisions in Dentistry July/Aug 2019 for “A Gingivectomy Procedure using a Diode Laser” which features one of her patients that she treated during residency. She is additionally a member of Spear Education and has achieved the status of Fellow from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. On top of all that, Dr. Kristen has completed over 200 hands-on courses to receive the title as a “master injector” for Botox, Dermal Filler and PDO thread treatments through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE). As you can see, she loves learning new techniques and comforts to bring to her patients to ease their dental experience.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Kristen is happily married to Dr. Michael and proud to come from a very caring, tight-knit family. She loves running, hiking, skiing, ski racing, wake boarding, and boating, to name a few activities. She loves traveling and experiencing different cultures! One of her favorite trips is skiing the French Alps with family and close friends.
